About the Speaker
Dave Smetter is Director of brand management and communications for Black Hills Energy with corporate headquarters in Rapid City, South Dakota. He oversees the combined corporate communications, marketing, advertising, creative services and digital team for Black Hills Energy. Dave has many years of experience in leading brand management, marketing, marketing communications, digital strategy, public relations, employee communications and crisis communications.
His experience includes senior leadership roles in marketing, communications and public relations with Wells Enterprises, Inc. (Blue Bunny Ice Cream), the largest family owned ice cream manufacturer in the U.S., headquartered in Le Mars, Iowa, and MercyOne, part of the Trinity Health System, in Sioux City, Iowa. Early in his career he spent a decade in broadcast journalism.
