Lakota Voice Project Christmas

Lakota Voice Project Christmas

Help us give gifts of hope this Christmas

Lakota Voice Project and the American Advertising Federation Black Hills are hosting a Christmas party for a group of youth suicide survivors on the Pine Ridge Reservation. 10 teenagers will be provided with small gifts and a Christmas meal! We’re asking for your assistance to make this happen.

“These kids need things to make their bodies feel good. They are dealing with some pretty tough living conditions and I want to make sure each young person gets something nice for Christmas.” said Yvonne “Tiny” DeCory, founder of the Bear Program, a Pine Ridge suicide prevention group.

Tiny suggested the following items:

Axe Bodywash
Cologne gift boxes
Perfume gift boxes
Face cleanser
Make up gift boxes
Hair products
Thick socks

We plan to put Christmas stockings together with these items as well as providing each person with a fun gift!

Since September, there have been two suicide completions on the reservation. This time of year is especially crucial and Lakota Voice Project would like to do everything they can to bring a little holiday cheer to this group of teenagers.
