Jason Alley of Message awarded AAF-Black Hills’ 2014 Silver Medal

RAPID CITY, S.D. (Jan. 22, 2014) – The American Advertising Federation-Black Hills (AAF-Black Hills) has selected Jason Alley, Principal/Head of Creative Development of the marketing and communications agency Message, as the 2014 Silver Medalist, in honor of his outstanding contributions to advertising and creative excellence, as well as his involvement in areas of social concern.

Silver Medal recipients are selected by a panel of past Silver Medalists based on creative ability and contributions to the community, his or her company and the general advancement of advertising.

Nominators lauded Alley’s hands-on approach, building Message from the ground up, as well as his commitment to ensuring “his clients receive the region’s best marketing services possible and his dedication to producing a product unlike any other, raising the Black Hills industry standards over the past several years.”

This past year, Alley became the first South Dakotan to receive a National Gold American Advertising Award for his work with Black Hills Ammunition, but nominators say his work in the community also stands without peer. Alley’s “design and management of Lakota Voice Project will literally save lives,” empowering Native American at-risk youth to capture images of hope, helping to stem the tragic tide of mounting suicide rates on reservations throughout the state. In addition to serving on the AAF-Black Hills board, Alley is currently or has been active on boards and committees for several area nonprofits, including the Special Olympics, Club for Boys, Cornerstone Rescue Mission and Black Hills Film Festival.

The Silver Medal will be awarded at the American Advertising Awards gala Friday, Feb. 7, at the Dahl Arts Center. Tickets may be purchased at aafblackhills.org.
