AAF-BH JANUARY PRESENTATION OVERVIEW:

Michael Libby

Print &

For the past decade “armchair” prognosticators have been predicting the demise of print, but industry surveys and studies are showing that the opposite is true. Print and digital are proving to be complementary and mutually supportive, and brand marketers are learning to play to the strengths of each. This discussion presents some surprising industry findings about demographic preferences, emotional triggers, browsing and shopping behavior, and niche marketing. Examples demonstrate how to make print more interactive, visually intriguing and tactile. Increasingly, print is becoming an experience to be savored and enjoyed.

About Michael:

An Emmy nominated and award-winning artist. Mr. Libby provides value-added business development, marketing, training and strategic sales management consultation to agencies, end users, printers and merchants for Sappi Fine Paper.

Over the past 30 years, Mr. Libby designed the blueprint for the centralization of the Sappi Fine Paper North America Inside Sales Division. This also involved designing the curriculum for the training program. Sappi had four inside sales offices in the United States and centralized all operations into one location in Maine. He is also a key member of the “Color Profile Team” that introduces the color profiles of Sappi’s paper grades into an agency’s Adobe system. This allows the agencies to soft proof their projects on Sappi paper grades.

Mr. Libby’s art has appeared on over 100 NBC affiliates nationally, CBC Television Network in Canada, NBC Nightly News, and Children’s Miracle Network Telethon, Carnival Cruise Lines and Canvas magazine.

Simpsons Printing was founded in 1965, under the direction of ‘pressman’ Frank Simpson. Three generations and 49 years later, we have continued to evolve as a single-family owned and operated business in Rapid City, South Dakota. In 1991, we also opened an office in Gillette, Wyoming. This expansion widened our customer base, and along with our commitment to innovative technology, we are able to serve the needs of our customers across the Midwest and beyond.
