2014 Painted Canvas Auction

The Painted Canvas Creative Guidelines

1) Blank canvases can be picked up the weeks of December 30th- January 10th, 2013. A $5 deposit is required.*

2) Pick up and drop off location is Gunderson Palmer law firm, 506 6th St. (in the Historic Elks Building, downtown Rapid City)

3) Canvases are first come first selection, and are available 1/person or 3/organization.

4) Completed canvases need to be dropped off by Friday, January 31st at 5pm to receive $5 CASH deposit back and be included in the ADDY’s silent auction.

5) This event is a fundraiser, and as such, artists that submit their canvases for the silent auction will not receive them back.

6) Canvases submitted for this creative project become the sole property of AAF-Black Hills, and each artist releases any rights to the work.


Creative freedom is encouraged with the canvases, but AAF-Black Hills reserves the right to withhold any canvas from public viewing that the board members deem necessary. Professional discretion is encouraged in the creative process, and AAF-Black Hills encourages participants to refrain from images or words referencing violence, verbal or physical indiscretion.

Silent Auction Guidelines:

Silent auction bidding for The Painted Canvas opens during the cocktail hour at the ADDY awards ceremony on February 7th, 2013. Bidding will remain open throughout the beginning portion of the evening, and will close promptly at the end of intermission. Winning bidders for each canvas will be alerted, and can pick up their canvas that evening once payment has been made. Without payment that evening, canvases will not be released.
